Why is Forum Etiquette important?
Simple. If you don't follow the rules, you get banned, kicked, and you will live a lonely life without friends.

Here are some serious offenses to keep in mind at all times that will result in immediate internet spanking.
  • No pornography, or pornographic related media
  • No gore, skat, or any media that can disgust the viewer
  • No advertisements at all whatsoever except in signatures
  • No warez discussions through the forums
  • One account per person!
  • No spamming, anywhere.
  • No threats. You can't kill people over the Internet.
  • The staff's decision is final, if you have a problem with what's going on, PM someone from the staff and they will take a look at it.

The following are not to be assumed as less severe, and can result in internet spanking if the Council deems it so.
  • Learn the forums before posting.
  • Be civil. No personal attacks. Do not feel compelled to defend your honor in public.
  • Stay on topic. Replies to threads should do one of the following. Answer or feed discussion on the original topic, or respond to a person who has a question or concern that is relevant to the original topic. This rule does not apply to topics inside the Pub.
  • Trolling is permitted only in the Pub. Feed the trolls at your own risk.
  • Be king to newcomers. This is important! Newcomers may be annoying. They ask the wrong questions, including ones that seem obvious (or whose answers seem easy to find). But lots of valued contributes started out this way, and treating newcomers kindly makes them more likely to turn into the valuable community members we all know and love (and cut some slack when they mess up).So while you don't have to humor them or suffer them gladly, and it's fine to point out when they make mistakes, point newcomers in the right direction in addition to turning them away from the wrong ones, and be kind to them in the process of correcting their transgressions.
  • Let sleeping dogs lie. It's tempting to revisit controversial decisions you disagree with, but it's rarely productive to do so, since it almost always results in the same heated, lengthy, and time/energy draining discussions leading to the same conclusion that was reached in the last round. Therefore, for issues already raised discussed, and decided upon, reopen the discussion only if you have significant new information that would reasonably prompt reconsideration of the original decision.
  • Don't use ALL CAPS!
  • The rest are common sense and should be read here.

Many of the above were taken from guidelines found on other forums. Its not that we were lazy or anything, its just that we agree with the tried and proven. See credits below.

Thanks for reading. Really. Here's your reward.

Maybe I should have also included this thread as the exception to topics in the Pub.
