No, that site is known for bashing ffxiv. Most of the time not being fair. It's very odd to me how the polls are going and this so called showing of support for f2p. Most of the time this site gets blasted and called out for being unfair.

F2P = Free to Play, but gear and items in game you would get through micro-transactions i.e you pay cash for them.

I doubt this article is true...F2P seems to go against SE policy...and I dont think they are even willing to consider going down that route until at least after the PS3 release. Although just found out that FF14 will have competition on the Ps3 with Blade and Soul being announced to be going on Ps3 as well next year.

Not to mention the time and resources put into this game. I don't think you put that much into a f2p game. Also keep in mind that SE's definition of micro transactions is slightly different from popular meaning. To SE your monthly payment is a micro transaction. They hinted at doing this for novelty items such as a holloween staff for special events. These items would have no major value stat wise and purly just for fun. It was not etched in stone they would do this though.
